Obumex and Christophe Delcourt focus on natural materials on the 26th biennale interior at Kortrijk XPO
With the 26th edition of the Biennale Interior the high mass of the design and interior world in the Low Countries celebrates its 50th birthday this year. More than ever before, from 18 till 22 October, Kortrijk Xpo and the wide
surroundings will buzz with activity, with a top event at which all celebrities from the design world, but also dozens of rising stars will be present. With a programme full of lectures, exhibitions, presentations and meeting moments
all strongly focussing on innovation and creativity, the 2018 Biennale aims at a memorable edition which will againattract thousands of national and international design lovers and professionals.
Belgian Classic Obumex Surprises
Just like the Biennale itself, plenty of exhibitors also make an extra effort this year to surprise on the jubilee edition of this exhibition. And so does Obumex, since many decades the established value in the feld of high-end kitchen
and interior design in Belgium. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Interior, Obumex for the frst time boasts a stand that leaves behind the kitchen story and focusses for the full 100% on total interior furnishing and decoration,
with special attention for custom work and original design accessories.
Inventive with New Techniques and Natural Materials
When designing the fair stand concept, the Obumex team has not evaded the audacious visual statements.
Silent witnesses, such as the back wall executed in a roughly processed loam structure and the stand floor executed in a greenish, roughly planed parquet, are inedited powerful expressions of a very contemporary vision on timeless
living aesthetics. The Obumex custom workshop here exposes its praised craftsmanship with an impressive library wall in combination with sandy natural stone and woodwork in greyed elm.
Close Cooperation with Christophe Delcourt,
Collection Particulière and When Objects Work
In addition, the meticulous decoration of the fair stand interior as usual reflects the essence of the Obumex design
philosophy, in which the brand invariably looks over the country borders to lift up the inspiration and creativity level
by means of international cooperations with innovative thinkers in the sector.
On this occasion, Obumex attributes a vast platform to the creations of the French designer Christophe Delcourt, who is world-famous for the simplicity and honesty of his objects, which each tell a story which closely leans to the
materials in which they are created (leather, wood, bronze, ceramics, etc.). The EKO sofa, the ELO stool, the ISO room screen and the TEO coffee table, some of the icons of the Delcourt Collection, bring a particular cachet to the
Obumex fair stand interior.
In addition, a balanced diversity of furniture pieces and accessories, especially taken from the collections of When
Objects Work and Collection Particulière, catches the eye (again with designs of Christophe Delcourt, but also of
among others Dan Yeffet and Luca Erba).

a solid international reputation in the feld of kitchen design, Obumex is also renowned for its total interior concept and its exclusive furniture collections. The brand has 5 flagship stores in Belgium, an international renowned
showroom along the Passage Dauphine in Paris and a growing presence in the US and Canada.
