Obumex has been designing tailor-made kitchens for 60 years now. To celebrate this jubilee, we launch a reimagined version of the iconic John Pawson kitchen, originally designed by this renowned British architect 25 years ago. The re-edition signature kitchen is displayed in the brand-new Obumex showroom in Tel Aviv, in a setting that resembles a house more than a store – totally in line with our philosophy.

STRONG PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN
OBUMEX AND JOHN PAWSON
25 years ago, John Pawson created his first kitchen for Obumex. For this memorable kitchen, the British architect aimed for visual simplicity, minimal features, perfect proportions, noble materials and intelligent use of details. The outcome was a kit of pieces ‒ worktop, sink, hob, storage and a system for housing appliances ‒ with each component designed for freestanding use or to be attached to a wall.
THE KITCHEN AS A PIECE OF HEAVEN
The minimal Pawson kitchen laid at the dawn of a revolution in 1996, but even today still it remains a grand success. So much so, it inspired Obumex and John Pawson to renew their collaboration. The new kitchen draws on the same refined, pared back architectural language of its predecessor, but also introduces important novel elements. The design continues on the idea of composing a kitchen from a series of elements that are more like furniture than conventional kitchen components ‒ elements that, while consummately addressing the functional requirements of food preparation, also generate an atmospheric and adaptable living space, where cooking and coming together to spend quality time simply feel good. For us, exactly that warm and cosy feeling of being at home ‒ in a kitchen that is a piece of heaven ‒ is one of the main cornerstones of all Obumex kitchens, combined with timeless elegance, refined luxury and comfort.
